Relation & Functions

Relation: The relation is between the x-values and y-values in ordered pairs. The set of all x-values is called the domain, and the set of all y-values is called the range.

Domain is also called as input values while Range is called as output values.

Relation: Let A and B be two sets. Then a relation R from A to B is a subset of A X B (cartesian product).

Domain: The domain is the set of all first elements of ordered pairs (x-coordinates).

Range: The range is the set of all second elements of ordered pairs (y-coordinates).

Let A and B are finite sets having m and n elements respectively. Then total number of possible relation will be 2mn.
