Limitation of Statistics

Statistics in Singular Sense : Statistics is a scientific technique for collection, classification, tabulation and analysis of data.
Statistics in Plural Sense : Statistics is defined as collection of quantitative and qualitative data for Statistical analysis.
Limitations of Statistics :-

(1) Statistics deals with aggregates. Statistics does not study the individual fact.

(2) Statistics always deals with quantitative data, for analysing qualitataive data, it should be converted into quantitative data by providing a numerical description to the corresponding qualitative data.

(3) Statistical laws are true under certain conditions. If any conditions is violated or changed , then the result also change.

(4) Statistics can easily be misused , one can manipulate the data draw conclusions as per his requirement (or desire).

(5) Statistics always give an estimate value, not actual.
